Join chapters, appendices, and slide exports created by different team members into one final document with the pages in the right order.

Why FileZoom

No upload — files stay private

Merging happens entirely inside your browser. Your documents are never sent to a server, so confidential contracts stay with you.

Free with no limits

Fast, with no waiting in queues

There is no upload or server queue. Merging starts instantly and finishes in seconds, even for large documents.

All you need is a modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, or iPhone. Nothing to install.

How It Works

FileZoom runs pdf-lib, an open-source PDF engine written in JavaScript, directly in your browser. Your files are read into your device's memory, each page is copied into a new PDF document in the order you arranged, and the finished file is saved straight to your downloads folder. Because the whole process runs on your device, no copy of your document ever exists on a server — there is nothing for anyone else to store, scan, or leak.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Drag the file cards into the final reading order before clicking Merge — the on-screen order is the order in the PDF.
  • If a file is password-protected, remove the password in your PDF reader first; locked files cannot be merged.
  • Merging very large scans? Close other browser tabs to free up memory for faster processing.
  • Need only some pages from a file? Split it first with PDF Split, then merge just the parts you want.

FAQ

Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?

No. All merging happens entirely within your browser using pdf-lib. Your files never leave your device.

Is there a file size or page limit?

There is no hard limit. Very large files may take longer depending on your device memory and processing power.

Will the merged PDF preserve bookmarks and links?

Basic content and layout are preserved. Complex bookmarks or interactive forms may not be fully carried over.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Password-protected PDFs cannot be merged. Please remove the password first using your PDF reader.

Can I change the file order before merging?

Yes. Drag the file cards into any sequence before clicking Merge — pages are combined exactly in the order shown.

How many PDFs can I merge at once?

There is no fixed limit on the number of files. For very large batches, your device's available memory is the only practical constraint.

Does PDF Merge work on mobile?

Yes. It runs in mobile browsers such as Safari and Chrome, so you can merge files directly on your phone or tablet.

Will page quality change after merging?

No. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so text, images, and vector graphics keep their original quality.
